1. Policy Statement

SVH Inc. CIC is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its work. We believe everyone has the right to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect, and we value the diverse experiences, backgrounds and perspectives that strengthen our organisation and the communities we serve.

 

We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, victimisation, bullying or unfair treatment of any kind.

 

2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals who engage with SVH Inc. CIC, including:

  • Participants and service users

  • Staff and volunteers

  • Contractors, consultants and associates

  • Directors and Board members

  • Partners, clients and stakeholders

3. Our Commitment

SVH Inc. CIC will:

  • Promote equality of opportunity for all.

  • Foster an inclusive and respectful culture.

  • Deliver services in a fair and accessible manner.

  • Make reasonable adjustments where appropriate to support participation.

  • Challenge discrimination, harassment and exclusion.

  • Encourage participation from diverse and underrepresented communities.

  • Comply with the Equality Act 2010 and relevant legislation.

 

We will not discriminate directly or indirectly on the basis of:

4. Responsibilities

SVH Inc. CIC is responsible for:

  • Embedding equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation.

  • Delivering services in a fair and inclusive manner.

  • Promoting a culture of dignity and respect.

  • Addressing concerns appropriately and without delay.

  • Reviewing this policy regularly.

 

Everyone representing SVH Inc. CIC is expected to:

  • Treat others with respect and professionalism.

  • Act in accordance with this policy.

  • Promote inclusive behaviours.

  • Raise concerns where discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment is observed.

 

5. Reporting Concerns

Concerns relating to discrimination, harassment, victimisation or unfair treatment may be reported verbally or in writing to:

Concerns will be managed fairly, sensitively and in accordance with the SVH Inc. CIC Complaints Policy.

 

SVH Inc. CIC will:

  • Acknowledge concerns within 5 working days.

  • Review and investigate concerns appropriately.

  • Maintain confidentiality where possible.

  • Provide a response within a reasonable timeframe, normally within 20 working days.

 

Where a concern relates to the CEO, the matter may be referred to the Board of Directors for independent review.

6. Review

SVH Inc. CIC is committed to continuous improvement and learning. This policy will be reviewed annually by the CEO and Board of Directors and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, organisational activities and best practice.
